Hey Crafters:)
This week I wanted to share with you a Junk Journal that I created using papers from Kaisercraft - Confetti Collection.  I love to make journals and using all the elements that come with this collection well.....it's just so easy.
These papers are bright and fun and with the die-cuts from the collectables and the cut outs and punch outs it came out fun and summery.

Throughout the journal I put this gorgeous floral washi tape which I am starting to use more and more.  So9 useful for many projects and really adds a little something to your creations.

I bound my Journal with the Zutter bind-it-all one of my favourite tools and you can find these along with the o-wires at Scottie Crafts

with all the elements in the paper collection it was easy to embellish this journal as well as add interest to every page.

I added tabs throughout this journal and I made them using my We R Memory Keepers
Envelope punch board.  There are so many different things that you can create with this awesome tool.

I have a vid click here to show you how I made the Tabs.

I hope you enjoyed this project share.  I have really been enjoying designing for Scottie Crafts and playing with all the awesome craft supplies and tools they have to offer.
I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope the New Year brings heaps of crafting and good times :)

Gift tag

Hey crafty friends :)
This month I got the Confetti Collection from Kaisercraft.  It's a bright, fun collection with some great chevron patterns, geometric, some wood grain and florals.  The paper lends to heaps of styles that would be great for so many projects.  This week it's my daughter Teja's 15th birthday and I thought I would make this tag to add to her gifts.  Where has the time gone??
The Tag base I used the packaging that the Prima Doll Stamp came in.

I layered the tag up with papers from the collection and embellished with some Prima flowers and a couple of these gorgeous Prima Doilies that I love to use in so many of my creations.

Popped the Prima doll up to add some dimension and used some of the cut-outs and  stickers from the collection.

Being that I am not a stamper I was a bit perplexed at how I was going to colour this cutie pie up so I thought I would try my hand at paper piecing.  I must say it was a bit of a challenge as stamping and fussy cutting are definatly not my favourite thing to do at all.  I gave it my best shot and was pleased at how it came out though I am sure al you clever stampers will do a much better job, at least now I can say I have done it :)

So that's my Tag guys just a quick project this week.  I'm working on a Mini album for next week so be sure to check that out.

Happy crafting everyone

Shabby Mini flip album

Wow it is getting hot here in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.  I have been crafting non stop trying to fulfil  orders and create stock for some up and coming markets.  In between I take lil breaks and do lil projects for myself and a couple of things for my crafty friends.

Toady I wanna show you a Mini Album I created and it only uses 1 piece of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterend paper and on top of that it is so easy peasy.  My friend Kimi told me about a great tutorial for this lil mini and I thought it would be a great lil gift to make up for a few of my crafty friends.

Christmas Cracker Blog Hop - Tasha

Hey there

Hope every one is having fun doing the blog hop.  Remember you need to visit each DT members blog to get all the secret words you need :)
If you have been keeping up with the blog you will have seen some beautiful crackers done by my fellow DT gals here at Scottie Crafts and now it's my turn.

To create the flower I used the Poinsettia Die an alterations die from Sizzix.  I cut out the 2 smallest ones with the paper from Couture Creations - A Vintage Christmas and layered them up.

To create some dimension in the flower I placed the petals on an old mouse pad and moving a stylus in circular motions I was able to get this effect  (thanks Kimi )

Pssstttt  the secret word is  "contest"

See you next week with another fun project.
Happy crafting

Altered Lace Bobbins

Here's a sneak peek at a couple of Lace Bobbins I have been altering.  My inspiration came from a friend who did some gorgeous ones and I was so blessed because my special scrappy angel sent me not only the bobbins but heaps of yummies to embellish them with.  Here is a couple of pics of the ones I have done so far but I will be back with more and a vid in a few days.

Flowers

Hey there
Just wanted to post a pic of the flowers I have been making. I have used all kinds of fabrics and lace embellished them with gorgeous centres.  So much fun to make.  I love to have a flower binge every so often.

Hey guys with Christmas coming up I have had a lot of orders for mini albums and I just thought I would share a few with you.  They are Paper bag Mini's measuring slightly bigger than a 6" x 6".  I am just packing for a weekend away camping with my beautiful family so this is just a Hi and Bye with a few pics.  Happy crafting everyone :)

Hey there crafty peeps :)
Well I must say it got pretty festive here in my lil crafty corner.  I ripped into my November Christmas Kit with gusto and came up with a couple of Tag/Cards (for lack of a better name)

The papers I used were from Couture Creations- Vintage Christmas and I loved this stack of paper.  Nice muted tones, heaps of journal spots and other cut out elements that you will see more in my projects to come.  As you can see above I did one in more Traditional colours and the other I "shabby chic'd " it up a bit.

Layering the paper with this beautiful lace gave the tag some dimension.  I embellished by cutting this lil bird out from the paper and some adhesive pearls.  I distressed the edges of my paper, this fastens with a brad and some seam binding.

Below you will see I used the bird again, more layering of the paper and added some more of the designer paper inside with a place to write your message. A very fun, quick and as always easy project and will be a special touch on any gift.  Maybe even create a pocket to put a gift card in...who wouldn't love that!!!

Also in my DT Kit I received some co-ordinations cardstock in seaweed and this great embossing folder -  so as an extra I thought I would make an easel card.
Rand the embossing folder through my cutting machine and lightly sanded with an emery board the raised bits to reveal the other colour underneath.  I then put a little stickles in to give it some sparkle and that was the front of my simple but pretty card.

The inside was just as simple.  The card base I used was Basil cardstock in Caramel and it measure 13cm x 13cm.  I used the bottom part of the embossed card stock on some more layered cardstock.

So guys that's me for another week.  I hope you are all getting stuck into your Christmas projects. I know all the Scottie Craft DT Ladies are doing some amazing work :)

Have fun crafting guys

Little Ramble and some craft shares :)

Hi guys with the holidays nearly over I can get back into sharing some of my crafts that I have been up to and catching up on some of my blogging and online sharing.
I have a couple of crafting tutorials to share with you over the next few days.  I have always felt a bit weird doing Tutorials because I don't feel like I'm teaching you anything new but have recently had a few messages from people asking me how I do certain things so these tuts are not methods I claim to of invented they are just "shares" of how I go about making them.

As you Know I love to make flowers and I have been playing around with different fabrics.  For so long I have been trying to find my "style"  I love to create so many things and make a lot of projects for other people I have found it hard to sink into a personal style that I love.  Recently I have been realising what I really love to create and the colour palette that I feel represents my preference.

So a particular style that really makes my eyes and other sences go crazy is "Tattered Chic"  to me this is shabby but not so much frilly.  It leans towards those yummy pastels but more of the dusty type shades, Dusky rose, white wash seafoams and my favs being all those yummy neutral tones...beige, taupe, cream, ivory...am I making sence?? clear as mud??  crazy lady babble?? lol
Below are some flowers I have been creating I call them "Tattered Chic Blooms" and they are a  spin off of the Lollipop flowers all of we flower makers have made time and time again.

Here is Tutorial if you would like to see how I made these gorgeous morsels of flowery goodness...:)
Hope you give them a try.
Click here to come over to my FB Page and feel free to post a pic if you make some of these flowers yourself :)

Paper Bag Mini Album - Kaisercraft Hidden Treasures Collection

Hey guys.
I'm still working with the awesome Paper Collection from Kaisercraft - Hidden Treasures and really liking it.  This is part one of a Paper bag Mini Album.  Here are the first 2, 2 page layouts.

Behind each photo mat I have tucked some Tea dyed Tags and I have dressed them up with some of the cut outs and die cuts from the collection.  Added some lace and some prima flowers to the large photo mats.  I love the colours to this collection and as you can see they are perfect for a child's mini album
.

Below you will see I have covered the gusset of the bag with patterned paper adhered the sides to make a pocket and tucked a photo mat and a journaling spot in.  I love tags that can be tucked away because I have messy writing so if you have the same problem but want to personalise your album with journaling then this is a great way as well as giving the book some interest.

When making mini albums I use a selection of adhesives.  Depending on the weight of the paper or what I am wanting to adhere.  For instance when I want to glue the sides of pockets I use wet glue so your tags and things don't catch as they do to double sided tape.  Here are some direct links to some wet and dry adhesives perfect for making an album.
ATG Gun, I also use Double sided tape and some wet glue

Here is a basic guide to how I construct these Mini Albums there are so many different ways to create these Paper bag Mini Albums but I find this way the most simple and fast.  I'm always eager to get into playing with the paper so this way suits me great.  Hope you give it a try :)

Next week I'll be sharing the rest of the Album and the cover.
See ya then

Triple Easle Card

Hi there everyone,  for all you parents I hope you are managing to get some crafty time in over the holidays or maybe you are braving it and crafting with the kids :)
It was my pleasure this month to get to use the new Kaisercraft Collection - Hidden Treasures.  I have heaps of paper, die-cuts, and embellishments to play with and thought I would start off with a Triple Easel Card.  Pretty pleased with how it came out as I am not at all an experienced card maker.  As you can see in the top photo the card lays fairly flat.  The banner is from the 12x12 sticker sheet.  The Babushka Nesting dolls were from the Collectables Die cut pack and I embellished with of course some Prima Flowers and some Wood Veneers from Studio Calico.

Then when you want to display this card you just pop these little panels.  This 3D card was very easy to make and a lot of fun.
I really enjoyed creating the different dimensions of this card and continuing to learn how to layer and create space and interest in my work from different angles.
This paper collection lends itself to so many themes and styles if you love this colour palette you will think it is great for many projects.  It has a vintage, dusty attic feel but there are also elements in the paper line that would be great for children's or masculine type projects and even baby projects if you want to do something other than the traditional baby pink or blue.
So guys there we go that's my project this week.  Had so much fun creating this card.  Lastly just wanted to show you the inside of the card.  I used some paper from the 6 1/2" Paper Pad from the collection.

See ya next week guys  :)

YOU GO GIRL - TAG

Hi guys
So excited to rip into my DT kit this month and get crafting with some of the awesome products from Prima and Fab Scraps. For this week I just wanted to do a Tag.  Ease into it as the next couple of weeks I will be showcasing different Layouts I create in the Prima Mixed Media Album

I prepped my tag by covering it with the Designer Paper from Fab Scraps. This Milkshake Chic collection has some amazing retro images on pastel polka dot backgrounds.  I cut the Paper Doll and her out fit from the pack of pre-cuts.  It has 2 paper dolls and various outfits for her to wear as well as some extra cut-out images.  I adhered the paperdoll cut-out to the Chip Board Pieces .

I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to "layering" but I tried to achieve that look with this tag.

I continued to embellish this tag with some Prima Flowers in spring colours.  Some Adhesive Pearls some lace and flatback pearls from my stash.  Finished it off with the title "You Go Girl"

Thanks for checking out my crafts guys
See you next week
